Track your application on Western’s Student Center Western has introduced an effective way for you to track your application and its progress. You can log-in to your to view your letters and other communications from Western. Communications regarding your application will be posted in the “Admissions” section of your Student Center, in the “My Applications” chart. By clicking on the link “View Letters,” you will be able to view all of your letters electronically and print a copy for your records. Free Download. ACTIVATING YOUR WESTERN ACCOUNT. Activate your Western Identity in order to access your Student. Access the Student Center at Western. It is important to read each of your letters as they will include important information regarding your application. If the Admissions Office requires documents from you in order to assess your admissibility to Western, the request will be noted in the “What’s Missing” section of the “My Applications” chart; click on each “To Do Item” to view specific submission details including links for online forms, uploading instructions as applicable and mailing address. This information is also available in the “To Do List” located on the right hand side of the page. Account Activation Before registering for courses, you need to activate your Western identity (username and password), access your Western email, and investigate your OWL site. Note: When activating your Western account, you will be provided a “User ID” and a one-time password. While you will eventually create a new password, the User ID will not change, and will be referred to as your “username” by all Western services and websites. How to Activate Your Western Account Students can also access the webpage for account activation, or view the online for additional support. You will need: • your 9-digit Western student number (i.e. 250555555) • your 4-digit access code (i.e. 5555) Your student number and access code are found on your letter of acceptance. Once you have found this information, please follow the steps below. If you cannot find your student number or access code, skip down to the Missing Information section. • Visit the “” webpage. • Refer to the chart at the top, “Students and Student Applicants”. Go to the row entitled “Activate Your Western Identity”, then go across to column “Then go to:” and select “Western Identity Manager Activation page”. • A new window will appear entitled “Western Identity Manager”. Read steps 1-6, enter your student number and access code, and select “Submit”. • The “Acceptable Use Agreement” for your username will appear. Read the agreement, and select “Agree”. • The “Account Activation” page will then appear listing your username and password. Write down your username and password, and/or save it to a computer text-editor such as notepad or Word. Then click “Login”. Note: This password is temporary, and will only be displayed for 60 seconds. Be very accurate when copying, as the password is case-sensitive and requires all 8 characters. Side-note: About your Username and Password: The username will typically consist of the first initial of your first name, followed by the first 6 letters of your last name. There may also be a number following your last name. Example: Your name: Joe Smith Your Western Username: jsmith87 Your Western Email: Your username will be accompanied by a password.These passwords will consist of eight keyboard characters, and will consist of numbers, capital letters, lower-case letters, and symbols (#$%^&). Your password is case-sensitive, so be sure to know which letters are upper or lower-case! Example: Your Username: jsmith87 Your Password: aBcD100! • Enter your username and password, and select “Login”. • NOTE: If you enter the incorrect password multiple times, the page will inform you that you are locked out, and you will have to wait one hour before trying again.
